Need another idea for your silicone molds?  How about some homemade sidewalk chalk?





First get all of your supplies collected. 

Molds of your choice
Plaster of Paris
Powdered tempra paint in color of choice
Bowl for mixing the chalk
Water
Spoon
Knife

The tools I used for the isomalt orchid were the orchid mold, powdered color (I used black magic from ECG), clear isomalt stick from Cake Play, silicone cupcake liner from Wilton.

When I saw these molds I thought that the harp looked so like a Michelangelo sculpture, I tried to get that effect by using chocolate and candy melts which are opaque instead of using poured sugar.  The result does in fact look like a statue and would make a great stand alone candy piece, or be lovely atop a wedding cake or valentine.

I had the opportunity to use Venuance Pearls and butterfly molds from Decorate the Cake. This was my first experience with any type of poured sugar, so it was definitely trial and error. This mold makes adorable replicas of the popular Valentine candy. To start, color your fondant or gum paste to your desired shade. For this project I made my fondant pastel pink, green, yellow and lavender.

We currently have 3 sets of giant coins for the wheat penny, mercury dime and quarter.  The molds may be purchased as a set of front and back or each side individually.

I just wanted to put up a picture of a cameo I had used from my tutorial samples. This is the fancy single cameo mold. It was made from fondant and dusted with various petal and luster dusts. The sides were imprinted with a paring knife then airbrushed to give a faux basketweave look.  The bottle after embellished with edible image was placed on top and the packing was white almond bark grated and placed around the bottle.
